Voices of Women is a weekly collaborative discussion program on AV Radio brought to you by African Views Organization (AV) and International Health Awareness Network (IHAN). Topics of discussion are centered around feminine issues and challenges that women face in many countries and cultures on daily basis around the world. The goal of this program is to improve the overall well being of the society through the views of women. This agenda is inline with the mission of IHAN and AV Organizations. Natalia Saavedra, is completing her bachelor’s degree in International Studies at the City College of New York and is currently part of the Skadden, Arps Honors Program in Legal Studies. She has been advocating for the reduction of maternal mortality with the International Health Awareness Network. She has also been very active in Peace Action International, Y.O.U.T.H., National Model United Nations, and other UN events. This September, she was the co-chair of the Intergenerational Committee at the 64th UN Department of Public Information Non-Governmental Organization Conference that took place in Bonn, Germany. She is interested in sustainable development, international human rights issues and the Millennium Development Goals.

Lila Benaissa, is an undergraduate student taking her bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law, Philosophy and Journalism at the City College of New York. She has supported as well as worked toward the empowerment of women through the International Health Awareness Network. As a board member of the Roosevelt Institute at the City College of New York, she has dealt with policy related work in areas such as equal justice, education, and proper medical care. Her interests include languages, international relations and affairs, law, and public relations. She is currently working as a press representative for Congressman Charlie B. Rangel.
