AV STUDENT EXCHANGE /STUDY ABROAD PROCESS OVERVIEW

1. Download, complete and submit application forms to Helena Kaushik Women’s College: You can submit a recommendation from a faculty member in your major department who is familiar with your academic work (This is optional could be an instructor, associate chair, or the chair or director.)

2. Notification of Approval: You must have approval of your internal application before you can apply for a study abroad visa. Helena Kaushik Women’s College will notify you within two weeks after they confirm the status of your internal application.

3. Apply to your desired program: Please note that application deadlines for programs vary. Deadlines must be adhered to. Submit applications for exchange directly to Helena Kaushik Women’s College.

4. Submit your course of study to you advisor: At the beginning of your study abroad semester, you must confirm your final program of study to your adviser. Any subsequent changes to this schedule must be sent to your adviser for approval.

5. All applicants should send in the application by the first week of July. The following documents are required along with the application form:

· Transfer Certificate and Character Certificate from the last attended institution

· Original Mark sheet of the last examination along with two attested copies of the original

· Proof of Date of Birth

6. Transcripts: Once you have completed your study abroad, have transcripts of your courses sent to:

JUNIOR-YEAR STUDY

Sophmores at who would like to study abroad in their junior year must download and complete the HKWC Application Form I & Form II Package. GRADUATE STUDENTS

The HKWC programs are best suited to students with college experience who are clear about their interests in the field of design and prepared for rapid immersion in a professional course of study. Talk to the school or contact AV Student Affairs director to discuss specific interest. Please fill out and submit the application forms: Form I & Form II.

SPECIAL CURRICULUM FOR FLEXIBLE LEARNING

Qualified applicants who wish to complete their studies in a short time can apply for such a fast track program, which enables students to earn a set targeted credit in a single academic year (fall and spring semesters). Students may also Study part time, and earn their degree over several years. Students could choose any field of study within the scope and capacity of the school and the appropriate curriculum can be designed as such. For example, a Student may want to study any specific subject or interdisciplinary subjects that are out of the traditional academic faculties' Scope.

Duration:

Programs vary depending upon program length. A program could last from one week to three month, a semester, an academic year, or a full college program.

Academic Calendar:

The fall semester is late August to mid December. The spring semester is mid March to mid June.

REQUIREMENTS

Admission:

Please fill out and submit the enrollment form (Form I & Form II.).

Travel:

International students would need student visa. See instruction on the form and obtain proper documentation from the school

Deadlines:

Contact the school for application deadlines or contact African Views. Note that International students form applications are accepted all year round. Full college programs are within the deadline frame.

Expenses:

$2500 for the whole year (This includes tuition, Accommodation, and food)

Personal expenses:

Cost of living is decent in Rajasthan. However, students are advised to be modest.

Health Care:

Students are required to obtain insurance and other risk management components, especially health insurance. Insurance is generally affordable for most students, plus the fee will be reduced. Alien Registration Card (ID). Minor illness can be treated at local health clinic but hospital and other medical expenses are the sole responsibility of each student.

Helena Kaushik Women’s College has graciously offered free housing to its international enrolled students on the College campus. The College’s International House is double occupancy, western style rooms with bed, desk, and closet, private bathroom, shared kitchen, and laundry room, each room is equipped with modest amenities. If you would prefer living at a private accommodation, please indicate it on your application (some additional cost may apply).

Can I obtain Financial Aid?

Note that the Helena Kaushik program is already a scholarship funded by the Helena Kaushik Foundation. The minimal cost offered to student includes tuition, accommodation, and meals. However, students and parents interested in financial aid can approach the school for supporting documents required for grants from organizations, individuals, foundations, and government agencies.
