Challenges of liberal market economies forces in fighting the obesity epidemic in the US”.

New outlook at understanding of the root cause of the obesity epidemic in the US associated

with special interest groups’ protection, the subordinate role of science to private founding

and the misunderstanding of risk factors related to releasing new products on the market.

The research proposes a more active governmental role in creating more restrictive rules

regarding the entry of new products into the US market, informative labeling of consumer products

and building consumer’s awareness about the content of existing products.
