The AV Framework

African Views framework is comprised of the following interrelated components on the side Menu Section:

Country Profiles:

this section offers two important types of information: qualitative and quantitative analysis. The qualitative part includes basic information about each country. How the country was founded and how the name of the country came about. We also examine the country history as well as its relationship with African Values. Because of the way this section is conceptualized, it will eventually result in the widest scope of African history and connects that history to the current state of affairs in relevant countries.

We attempt to provide other qualitative information on countries record on human right, social circumstances and a list of the country’s NGO working on African issues.

Our quantitative information is based on a host of relative performance indicators that are offered to gauge and compare favorable conditions for human and societal development in all countries. The indicators are made up of vital statistics that reflect components of governance, economics, social and demographic conditions for each country worldwide. There are about 100 indicators on 235 countries and territories. African Views offers its flagship indicator, African Views Index (AVI).

The AVI (African Views Index) ranks each country's capacity to promote human development without prejudice based on race, creed, culture, religion or gender among its people. The index not only reflects how Africans are integrating in every country but also where each nation stands comparatively. African Views indicator uses a factor of 100 current vital statistics from well-established institutions to create a unique index for each country or territory.

Discourse and Debates:

this section is a Participatory media component that can be used in several ways. The main purpose is to allow people to share their stories, ideas, news, debates, questions, discussions, education, information, and inspiration with one another on relevant issues in real time. This provides forums for information exchange and allows us to get information directly from the source. We hope to encourage intelligent dialogue about existing issues and effective solutions. We need your help to get to the truth out in the public sphere.

To start a debate, read existing dialogues, or to make a comment -- click on the Discourse and debate section and see details on the top menu. You must be logged in to interact on this website.

Research and Reports:

this section is based on the indicators provided in our country profile section. It provides detail information on how the indicators are collected, how they are used, how they are calculated and where we got them. The purpose of the section is to allow for sharing academic thesis and propositions, as well your research and report with the whole world. Many people tend to put their academic thesis away after graduation. We think a lot of knowledge is useful lost that way.

This section provides a great opportunity to share your knowledge with the rest of the world. The research and report section allows you to upload your document to our server and share it for others freely. Lack of sufficient information exchange or inadequate access to information is one of the root problems in developing communities. African Communities desire quality information, however, this information are often difficult to find or unaffordable for most. Research materials and reports on issues that are important for development are priced very high at many organization product facilities.

We expect people who have written extensively along their career part to share good information for the benefit of scholars and seekers who need it around the world. The challenge here is to match your document with the right indicator. Look thoroughly thought the indicators to see which one matches best to your document and your ideas. Note that this section is free. You cannot charge a fee for sharing. If you wish to charge a fee for your upload, please see our Market place.

To upload a document, click on the Research and Report link on the left menu and click on upload new document.  You must be logged in see detail and to interact on this website.

African Stake Holders’ Performance Reviews:

this section provides a self-inclusion directory for African issues stakeholders in various fields of society development and sustenance.  Organizations in public, private, and independent sectors can be added to inform the public about what they are doing and allow the public to provide a review and rating about the effectiveness and performance of the organizations. At African Views, we believe that all sectors should be regulated and their activities be made transparent to the public. People should be in control of the kind of service and quality of service available to them.

This component is useful in many ways. In order to improve overall performance, we believe that independent sectors, along with private and public sectors should be regulated or at least under some publicly controlled oversight. This is why we take this component very seriously. Anyone can submit an organization for review and we intend to capture as much as possible Non Governmental Organizations and Civil Society Groups who are stakeholders on African Issues, and many which are doing marvelous work, but few which are not. People should be at the center of telling what works and what does not. This should also serve as a bellwether and opinion poll for the organization assessment, and ultimately a tool for performance improvement.
