Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka yesterday said time has come to take the East African regional integration to the next level by establishing key institutions and drawing a federation constitution.
For this to happen, the VP said, there is need for the nationals inthe region to deal with lingering mistrust and suspicions and fully embrace one another.
'There is also need to address the non-tariff barriers that hamper fast tracking of the process" Mr. Musyoka added, when he delivered a public lecture at the Makerere University where key Kenyan politicians and technocrats who studied at the institution were singled out for praise.
His paper was titled "East Africa in Development Transition: the light ahead isn't an oncoming train". He said he had decided to deliver it from makerere university which he termed as the cradle of east African higher education.
