This is a weekly women’s education and empowerment discussion on AV radio. The program focuses on coordinating international and intercultural efforts to integrate gender equality and women’s empowerment into poverty reduction, democratic governance, crisis prevention and recovery, and environment and sustainable development through our global network of university students, scholars and friends and colleagues who work to ensure that women have a real voice in all governance institutions, from the judiciary to the civil service, as well as in the private sector and civil society.
Women empowerment involves conscious or unconscious efforts by the woman or and with the woman to be equipped with information, knowledge, skills and to have access to platforms which enables self discovery, dreams, freedom from fears, and realization of potential. Under this program, various issues affecting the role of women in national development, global work by UN Women, as well as the MDGs will be discussed. Women and family are of utmost importance to societal development, hence our mission through this radio program is to discuss issues that can empower and educate women. The future women want is best summed in this quote: "In the end, what the world needs to end violence against women is equality between boys and girls, and between women and men."
