The available scope of content creation is very wide. See AV Country profiles in the Cultural Development Indicators page.

MEDIA PRODUCTION TEAM MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS:

TV correspondents/Reporters:
Candidate can choose to cover community issues, interview people at events, or report on news stories from around the world. Regardless of the locale in which candidate works, he/she will need audio and video personnel.

Video Editors:
We are looking for candidates to help edit and create high-end TV programs, web and studio-quality DVD publishing from our extensive recorded video archives.

Video editing is part of the process of filmmaking. It involves the selection and combining of shots into sequences, and ultimately creating a finished clear picture story. It is an art of storytelling. On its most fundamental level, film editing is the art, technique, and practice of assembling shots into a coherent whole. A film editor is a person who practices film editing by assembling the footage. However, the job of an editor isn’t simply to mechanically put pieces of a film together, cut off film slates, or edit dialogue scenes. A film editor must creatively work with the layers of images, story, dialogue, music, pacing, as well as the actors' performances to effectively "re-imagine" and even rewrite the film to craft a cohesive whole. Editors usually play a dynamic role in the making of a film. Thisis a great opportunity for film students or enthusiasts who are looking for real materials to work with.

Camera operators Production Assistants/Videographers:
We are looking for Videographers and Camera operators to help film our events and post short videos on Web sites for businesses, as well as work as part of a reporting team, following newsworthy events as they unfold within their community. The community could be within college campus, county or city. Candidates must have their own camera to be considered. In some cases AV will provide camera or any other recording device necessary.

  • Have a teachable attitude. Be willing to learn about your surroundings, whether in the studio or on location. A good host is capable of reviewing scripts, understanding briefings and taking direction from the producer and stage manager,
  • Pay close attention to the stage manager and follow their direction when reading the teleprompter. A television host must also know their stage locations. The stage manager gets their instructions from the director.
  • Work closely with the producer. Producers are the ones to give you the information needed to successfully host a show. They will supply you with pertinent facts about your guests. Producers also give you specific questions to ask your guest, based on pre-interviews they have conducted.
  • Begin your interviews with brilliant and descriptive words, especially if you are on location and are responsible for creating your own introductions. Pretend that your audience does not know much about the subject matter. Use vibrant details when describing people and events.
  • Have a conversation with your guests. Unless you are interviewing the president of a major corporation or the chief of police, make the interview more relaxed. When you warm up to your guests and talk to them with a sense of familiarity, it comes across well on camera.
  • Ask your guests intriguing questions. Your job is to ask questions that prompt more than a yes or no answer. If your guest is wearing a particular piece of stunning jewelry, you may want to ask, "Where did you find such an exquisite ring?"
  • Thank your guest for appearing on your show. Pleasantries will get you a long way in this business. Once you have thanked your guests, offer them a chance to come back in the future. This will not only show your appreciation, but it will also build a working relationship in the near future.

Television Directors:

The duties of a television director vary depending on whether the production is live or not. In both types of productions, the director is responsible for supervising the TV crew, this includes placement of Cameras (camera blocking), lighting elements, microphones, and props. In AV programs production, the television director's role can be similar to that of a Film director, giving cues to reporters, hosts, cameramen at events and maintain order among the staff in the control room, on the set, and during a shoot.

  • The director will be responsible for coordinating several level of productions as well as product distributions within their domains.
  • Must work closely with Country Directors in planning and coordinating events and getting access to TV networks in their areas.
  • Build and manage a Media production team in your country/area/community/school

Radio and Television Scriptwriter:

Scriptwriters are skilled writers who prepare scripts for Shows that appear on media outlets, such as radio, television, in films, and on stage. One type of scriptwriter, known as the continuity writer, creates station announcements, previews of coming shows, and advertising copy for local sponsors. These editors may also write material for locally produced shows. They must be able to write persuasively, creatively, and quickly because of the pressure of deadlines.

We are looking for writers who can help tailor the script to subject matters in a timely fashion for our radio and television shows. Script writing requirement may include questions for audience, show participants, tags lines, smarrt comments and clever ads.

In all cases, scriptwriters must be able to imagine the effect of their words when they are spoken in a production. It is not enough that the words look good on paper—the Scriptwriters may need to work with producers to ensure that the environment, audience and issues targeted have been seriously put into consideration.
